Catemaco Veracruz

Catemaco is a beautiful village at the foot of the lake, located in a valley between the Saint Martin Volcano and Santa Marta mountains southeast of Veracruz in Mexico, with its distinctive cuisine and its "warlocks", Catemaco is a must visit place in Veracruz.

Like any tourist destination, Catemaco has a variety of hotels, some located in the Malecon in front of lake as the "Lake Hotel", "Crystal Beach Hotel", "Posada Koniapan", "Warlock's Hotel","Fonseca Hotel", "Hotel Playita", "Hotel Irefel", or the hotels are located in the center as the "Aquarius Hotel", "Las Brisas Hotel", "Berthangel Hotel", "Catemaco hotel", "Loud Hotel","Pasco Hotel Center", "Hotel Del Angel", "San Francisco Hotel" and the other hotels that are located behind the center as "Juros Hotel", "Hotel Los Arcos", "Hotel Restaurant Julita", and last are those in the federal highway as the "Hotel Campestre", "Hotel Imalca", "Polymar Hotel", "Hotel El Paso".



There are a number of activities you can do in Catemaco as: walk the pier at dawn, singing listening to the great diversity of birds, a warlock you a clean, gives a tour boat on the lake Catemaco and visit the island of monkeys, visit the church of the Virgen del Carmen, "The Teterete" serpentarium visit and know the different species of snakes in the place, you can take pictures through the trail to Espagoya where you can see the lava flows hundreds of years ago that attempted to fill Lake Catemaco, visit the cave "The Tegal" which states that the Virgin appeared once and where the elders worship Chalchiuhitlicue (formerly Aztec goddess of water), take a steam bath in a temazcal and get a mud mask on your face until the tip of your foot, a trip to the summit of a volcano in the vicinity, these are some activities you can do in Catemaco.

Other places you can visit in Catemaco are eco-park point, jump eyipantla, beaches which are near Catemaco especially Pio Monte, Los Tuxtlas, Nanciyaga, Mangrove Lagoon Sontecomapan among others.

Veracruz is characterized by beautiful natural landscapes in all parts of the state ranging from beaches with coral reefs, fish and curious species, rivers and waterfalls, to the warm waters and a bright sun, leaving behind the ancient ruins of the Olmec and Totonac culture, traditions and festivals, as well as the hospitality of its people.

Veracruz vacations is very diverse, from ecoturimo, adventure, climbing, and rafting in Jalcomulco; Veracruz also has world heritage sites as Tlacotalpan, the tajin, and magic town as Coatepec and Papantla where it occurs vanilla.
